Mike D. started his career working in patrol, SWAT and investigatory capacities with two metropolitan police departments. Along the way he discovered a passion for training others. Mike took on additional police academy responsibilities as a senior defensive tactics instructor before joining General Electric (GE) as a security professional. Mike rose to the executive ranks of this Fortune 100 company with many exciting national and international assignments along the way. Prior to retiring from GE's world headquarters, Mike helped forge strong ties between the United States Military Academy (USMA) and GE’s renowned Crotonville learning center – the nation’s oldest corporate university program. Mike enjoys his new role as no longer being a “corporate suit” again. He’s pursuing various shooting sport opportunities as an adaptive shooter and thoroughly enjoys working with our students! 

 

 

Mike I. is our ultimate gun guy and one of the nicest guy’s you’ll ever meet! He’s been immersed in all aspects of firearms and shooting instruction for four decades. Mike's shooting background spans early high school rifle shooting leagues to his current affiliation as a recognized Single Action Shooting Society competitor. Mike proudly served nine years in the United States Marine Corps (USMC) where he was a pistol and rifle expert before entering the private sector. Today his professional expertise is in aviation and aerospace design and manufacturing but his passion revolves around firearms. Mike is a highly regarded NRA instructor and range safety officer locally. He enjoys collecting and repairing classic firearms, reloading and is one of the most sought out instructors during the Valley's annual Women on Target event. He’s happily married, loves being a grandfather and more often than not on weekends can be found working with the shooting public in Naugatuck.

 

  

Amr originally immigrated with his family to the US. He grew up in New Haven county and was first introduced to recreational shooting sports in his early 20's. He's been an avid shooter for the past 10 years and a carry permit holder since 2009. Amr's continued interest in learning led him to start a recreational group that now includes over 130 shooting enthusiasts. Amr works as an armed professional and security lead for a national security firm. He's a NRA pistol and rifle instructor, the owner of First Line Defense and also thoroughly enjoys rock climbing, scuba diving and anything involving great food!
