Dan is a master handgun instructor, safety educator and a train-the-trainer for firearm instructors, church safety teams and armed citizens.

Early on, "Disaster Dan" volunteered in college teaching school children disaster safety. He loved it! Post college he worked for the American Red Cross (ARC). His focus areas were training individuals for disaster response work - small and large. He joined the national ARC focusing on emergency planning and readiness - helping communities in times of national crisis.

Dan maintained dual military and professional careers. He was initially trained and worked in emergency combat care and military intelligence. After commissioning he served as a combat arms leader for another 20 years. Dan also pursued several graduate degrees - just because he loves to learn.

MAJ "Dan" (USA Ret) mentored, trained and led small unit and company sized teams during two overseas deployments. As a senior military leader he was a division level military planner and senior operations leader for major domestic response incidents. His experience includes protective security for senior government officials, mobile and physical safety operations and civil support roles. He retired as Battalion Executive Officer. His awards include several Bronze Star Awards and the Army Combat Action badge.

Most importantly, Dan, a lifelong bachelor, married the love of his life, Glory! Together they love teaching new students and those wanting to better prepare and protect their loved ones. Both are NRA and USCCA Instructor certified.
