Dan is an expererienced safety educator, master handgun instructor and a multi-disciplined, train-the-trainer across a range of personal safety and firearm disciplines.

During early undergrad years, "Disaster Dan" taught children about disaster safety and family readiness planning. He loved it! After graduating he worked for the American Red Cross specializing in community readiness and disaster response before joining the national Red Cross training and developing teams to prepare for and respond to largescale and national disasters. 

 

Love of country led Dan to dual life-long professional and military careers. He enlisted and served in distinct combat medic and military intelligence career fields. He retired as a Field Grade Officer after 20 additional years as a combat arms leader. MAJOR Bulkley (USA Ret) is a Army Combat Action and two-time recipient of the Bronze Star Award. He's trained and led teams at all levels performing protective security, combat and civil support in multiple overseas deployments and during statewide and national emergencies.

Dan loves to teach and train with those of all ability levels. He travels nationally as part of his continuous development and brings the latest concepts to students, new instructors and personal safety professionals.
